Barry paced anxiously around the remains of the STAR Labs library. He'd been told to meet at 8:35am but he'd gotten there around 7:35 by mistake. He'd foiled a few petty thefts and managed to save a woman from falling out of a building. A pretty good day from the start of it, but for the moment, he was counting the seconds until he had to be on time for his test. He started to flip through the texts, the occasional one catching his interest. Mastering Quantum Physics by Doctor Hunter, was a personal favorite. In the three minutes that had passed he'd already read it 14 times, memorizing a few key paragraphs. He moved on to something he found interesting regarding mathematical formulas being used to unlock human potential. 3X2(9YZ)4A seemed like a plausible enough idea, but using math as a mantra to tap into an inter-dimensional field wasn't something that Barry felt he had enough time to work on. Later perhaps, if he could ever find the time.

"My my. Mr. Allen. You keep finding new ways to amaze and astonish me."
Wells was used to having the entire building to himself after hours, even accounting for the unconventional hours they'd all started keeping since STAR Labs became the base of operations for a crimefighting team. Yet Gideon had alerted him to Barry's presence far earlier than expected. Which on the one hand was a very good sign, and on the other meant another hour in the chair. Wells had never spent much time in the lab library, although he'd always kept it well stocked and had been pleased to see it survive the explosion. Knowledge was knowledge, after all, and if Barry was brushing up on his quantum physics, so much the better.
He took a sip of coffee from his silver travel mug. "Or did the clocks go back without my noticing? Time is a tricky business after all."

"Doctor Wells, I didn't mean to wander off really? I just felt that I could spare the time" he remarked flipping through the last hundred pages of the book in an instant, before placing it back on the shelf. He cocked his head to the side as he let a stray thought pop into his head. "Did you know that Doctor Hunter has a theory about Time and how to manipulate it? Like a straw through a board of wood in a hurricane, if something or someone was moving at faster than light speed then shifting to a different vibrational plane that they could travel through time?" he asked, the information actually staying in his head for a longer time than he'd thought.
"No, the clocks are the same, I've just noticed that I don't keep track of time much in the same way, especially after I've been using my speed. Its like my brain is constantly at work, moving and shifting while I sleep. I...well, I can sometimes recall complex directions after I've read something, but most times it'll fade from my short term memory"

Wells was usually a master of maintaining his composure, but it was difficult to keep from smiling when Barry was around. He was almost a literal ray of sunshine in the once-bleak world of STAR Labs, and it was a joy to see him, listen to him. "I had heard of that theory, yes."
Which was an understatement of massive proportions, but there was no point in belittling Barry's knowledge. He was young and eager to learn, and certainly had all the time in the world to do so. Curious, though, that this particular theory should have sparked his interest.
"You'll improve," Wells said. "This is precisely what your training and our tests are designed to achieve. More speed, better reactions, multitasking, memory... The first step to resolving an issue is understanding that the issue exists. Being self-aware isn't just a facet of philosophy, Barry. It's a crucial aspect of science, as I'm sure you're aware. And as for straw in hurricanes... A lot of hypotheticals have become a very blunt sort of reality since the accident. Who knows? Perhaps we'll have the chance to prove Dr. Hunter right."

Barry placed the books he'd taken down back on the shelves with his regular speed, knowing full well that given the time he could no doubt read through the entire library. He chuckled to himself as he let all his stray thoughts on Quantum Physics and shifting Vibrations to unlock potential coalesce and settle to somewhere he would try and sort them out later. He made his way back over towards the man whose body of work he greatly admired. "You know...that sounds like it could be a welcome change from fighting Metahumans" he chuckled softly before making his way back to the man seated in front of him.
"So what are we working on today? Motor Skills, Coordination? I mean I guess I could play ping-pong by myself" he trailed off wondering just what the limits of his speed were. He wondered, with his feats of ingenuity and creative ideas he had already become a cyclone, and run up walls and on the surface of water. Granted this was thanks to both his own understanding of physics and the help of the people on his team. Still, with such a brilliant mind like Harrison Wells around and helping him, there would be no limit to what he could do.
